EXCAVATE
I use drawing to excavate the image—pushing through marks, erasures, additions, and subtractions—guided by intuition until something begins to reveal itself. Often, figures, animals, plants, and strange character forms emerge through the process, carrying an abstract narrative I could not have planned. I understand this as a way of processing past experiences and faded memories, which surface through the work and ultimately play an important role in forming its meaning.
